1. Communications and Preparation
- Verify CSU Safety Plans / Updates
- Check with college and/or department to coordinate efforts to keep teaching.
- Let students know your plans – Email students via ARIESweb class lists the plan to use a Canvas course and when to expect the course to be available

2. Course Preparation
Course preparation and students with learning accommodations.
- Develop realistic goals for class continuation.
- Update course objectives/timeline/syllabus/grading
- Course should already be in Canvas.
Academic courses worth 1 credit or more are automatically created in Canvas. - Content Preparation
- Import content from previous course / instructor
OR - Start with blank course; consider using template
- Import content from previous course / instructor
- In Canvas course, create Folders under Files. e.g. Module 1, Module 2
- Upload files from your computer into Canvas Files Folders.
- Create Course Modules
- Link Canvas files to Canvas Modules
- Create Page; Make a page the course Home page
- Create Online Assignments with due dates
- Gradebook and course grading scheme
- Upload updated course syllabus
- 3. Publish/Make Course Available To Students

4. Let Students Know The Course Is Ready
You can use ARIESweb Class List Email, Canvas Inbox, or Canvas Announcements to communicate with your students.
